Carlos Alcaraz reaches first Grand Slam semi-final after running marathon

Alcaraz made his debut in a Grand Slam semi-final at the US Open with a thrilling five-set victory over Jannik Sinar

It was the most thrilling final ever to be held in the tradition of this tournament. It lasted more than 30 minutes

The 19-year-old fell on the floor, and the 6-3 6-7 7-5 6-3 victory lasted five hours and fifteen minutes

Alcaraz's third marathon match is in succession after a five-set win over Marin Cilic in the previous round

In the fourth set Sinner was serving 5-4 however, Alcaraz made it a decisive set by winning three times in three sets

The 21-year-old sinner led to the set break during the 5th game too before being bowed down by Alkaraj yet again

Alcaraz will face an additional Grand Slam semifinalist in the next round and that is Francis Tiafoe

In the third Grand Slam quarter-final, Alcaraz started off with a frenzied start on Wednesday
