Some parts of the country battling cold and dense fog are expected to get relief in the coming few days. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that due to the new Western Disturbance arriving on Tuesday night, there is a possibility of increasing the minimum temperature by 2-4 degree Celsius in the next 2-3 days in North-West India. Also, in the coming few days, many states including Punjab, Haryana can face rain. In such a situation, due to the increase in melting, the states which are already facing fog may have to face a new wave of weather.

IMD has told that cold wave conditions may develop in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, North Interior Karnataka and Bihar. However, relief is expected in these areas from Wednesday. There is no possibility of significant change in the minimum temperature over East and Central India during the next 24 hours. After this it can increase by 2-3 degree Celsius.

The Meteorological Department has told that between January 11 and 13, there may be light rain in the adjoining areas of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh. There are chances of heavy rain or snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir on January 11-12 and in Himachal Pradesh on January 12. Andaman and Nicobar Islands may receive rain between January 10-14. Arunachal Pradesh between January 12-14, Assam and Meghalaya on January 13, West Uttar Pradesh between January 11-12, Uttarakhand between January 10-13, Haryana between January 11-13, Chandigarh and Delhi between January 11-13 Rain may occur over Punjab, Himachal Pradesh between 10-14 and parts of Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh.

How will be the weather for the next 4 days
January 11-
Dense fog may occur in parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam and Tripura. There are chances of cold wave in Bihar.

January 12- There are chances of dense fog in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. During this, there may be heavy rain or snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.

13 and 14 January- Dense fog may occur over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar.

There may be a decrease in the cold wave after Tuesday, dense fog will still haunt
According to the agency, as per the latest IMD update, cold wave conditions are likely to subside over the plains of northwest India after 24 hours. It said, “Dense fog will prevail over many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh during next 24 hours and thereafter its intensity will reduce.”
