Bharat Jodo Yatra in Kashmir: Security agencies have issued an alert regarding Rahul Gandhi busy in Bharat Jodo Yatra. There are media reports that during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Kashmir, Rahul Gandhi has been advised not to walk at some places. Security sources informed that they should avoid walking at some places in Jammu and Kashmir. Instead of walking, they should travel in a car. The Bharat Jodo Yatra under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi will take entry on January 19 at Lakhanpur in Jammu and Kashmir.
On September 7 last year, the Congress had started the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. With a target of 150 days and 3750 kms, this yatra will cover 12 states and 2 union territories under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. NDTV reports that a senior official associated with the security agency told that Rahul Gandhi may be in danger at some places in Jammu and Kashmir. “A detailed plan has been made to secure her and it has been advised that she should avoid traveling on foot and instead travel in a car,” he added.
The official said a comprehensive security review is still underway with details about the night halts being worked out. The 52-year-old Congress leader is set to unfurl the national flag at Banihal on January 25 and will enter Srinagar via Anantnag two days later on January 27.
“Rahul (Gandhi) will unfurl the tricolor on the way to Kashmir. So far it looks like it will be around Banihal. Then the yatra will enter Srinagar via Anantnag a day after Republic Day,” the official said. According to him, the security agencies want only a few people to travel with Rahul Gandhi when he is in Srinagar.

As per the plan, Rahul Gandhi will enter Lakhanpur on January 19 and after staying there for one night, will leave from Hatli More in Kathua the next morning. The yatra will again take a night halt at Chadwal. It will start from Hiranagar to Duggar Haveli on the morning of January 21 and will go from Vijaipur to Satwari on January 22.
Significantly, Rahul Gandhi currently has Z+ category security cover, which means 8/9 commandos are guarding him 24×7. Last month, the Congress had demanded the Center to enhance his security as several security violations were observed along the yatra route. Responding to the Congress, the Center had said that Rahul Gandhi himself has violated his security rules more than 100 times since 2020.
