Lufthansa Pilot Strike 2022: German Carrier Lufthansa’s pilots Are Set To Strike on Friday Over Pay
Lufthansa Pilot Strike 2022: The union that represents pilots at German airline Lufthansa has announced they will hold a walkout on Friday after their requests for a raise in wages were denied by management.
Union Vereinigung Cockpit Vereinigung Cockpit accused Lufthansa on Thursday of not improving on their earlier offer which left pilots with no option other than to strike to demand their demands.
According to Lufthansa, the airline provided a one-time increase of the sum of 900 euros ($900) which is an increase of 5% for experienced pilots as well as an increase of 18% for those who have just started their careers.

The union had demanded the union get a 5.5 percent increase in this year’s inflation and an automatic increase above inflation in 2023.
Furthermore, the pilots want an overhaul of the salary and holiday schedule that the airline has said will increase the cost of staffing by around 40% roughly 800 million euros over two years.
