The survey team includes Garhwal Commissioner Sushil Kumar, Disaster Management Secretary Ranjit Kumar Sinha, Disaster Management Executive Officer Piyush Rautela, NDRF Deputy Commandant Rohitas Mishra, Landslide expert scientist Shantanu and IIT Roorkee Dr. BK Maheshwari. Ranjit Kumar Sinha told that many suggestions were given on the basis of the survey. Under this, the best institutions have been asked to conduct a survey here, so that it can be ascertained why this problem is arising in Joshimath. He informed that the National Institute of Hydrology has been asked to find out the water seepage and its source in Joshimath. According to Sinha, a technical study will also be done by IIT Roorkee, in which it will be ascertained how much load Joshimath town can bear. Apart from this, there will also be real time monitoring for information about seismic activities.

ban on construction
Kalachand Sen of the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology said that Joshimath is situated on such a land, which is geologically fractured. In such a situation, there should be an immediate ban on the activities related to development and construction work. He further said that we should do a detailed study about the sinking of Joshimath. Apart from this, there should also be a seismic microzonation study of Joshimath town. According to Kalachand Sen, there should be proper drainage and sewerage system here, so that water does not get inside the surface. According to Piyush Rautela, executive director of the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA), the recommendations of the study conducted by the authority were sent to the government in August last year.

Well planned drainage system was suggested
Accordingly, immediate well plant drainage system was suggested in all the houses and surrounding areas of the entire town. Talking about other suggestions, it was also talked about monitoring all the activities related to development and avoiding any kind of encroachment. This advice was given especially regarding the drainage channel. It also suggested systematic monitoring of the slopes around the town. Apart from this, it was also said to put a layer of crushed soil on the open surface. The most important suggestion was given regarding the drains here. Under this, the drains of Ravigram, Nau Ganga, Kamad-Sema, Tehsil Chunar and Kamet Marwari were asked to be brought into the drainage system.
