Dhamal of the film RRR: Best Original Song Award for ‘Naatu Naatu’

Rajamouli’s film ‘RRR’ has rocked the Golden Globes 2023, as the film’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ has won the Best Original Song award. In fact, the film RRR received nominations in two categories, including ‘Best Film – Non English’ and ‘Best Original Song – Motion Picture’. ‘RRR’ directed by Rajamouli is based on nationalism and brotherhood. It stars well-known actors Ram Charan and Junior NTR. They played the role of real-life Indian revolutionaries Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem respectively. The film is based on a fictional story set in the pre-independence era. The music for the film’s Telugu song ‘Naatu Naatu’ is given by MM Keeravani, while its lyrics are penned by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj.
The film ‘RRR’ was released in cinema houses in March last year and has earned more than Rs 1200 crore at the global box office. The Hindi version of the film was released on Netflix on 20 May and it soon became the most popular film on the platform from India to all over the world.
The Golden Globes Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, USA. In the Best Original Song category, Natu Natu was up against Taylor Swift’s ‘Carolina’ (Where the Crawdads Sing), ‘Ciao Papa’ and ‘Hold My Hand’ from ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, among others. ‘Hold My Hand’ is sung by Lady Gaga. Whereas, in the ‘Best Film Non-English’ category, ‘RRR’ is up against Korean romantic film ‘Decision to Leave’, German anti-war film ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’, Argentina’s ‘Argentina 1985’ and French-Dutch film ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’.
