Maruti had earlier this week unveiled the new Jimny 5-door SUV at the 2023 Auto Expo. It will be launched in India as well as in many countries around the world. The launch in India is planned in a few months. Earlier the official bookings have started through Nexa dealers or online. The demand for the Jimny is so high that it has received 3,000 bookings in just two days.
The Jimny is one of the most iconic Suzuki cars ever made. It has been on sale since the late 1970s and is now in its 4th generation. The second generation was available for sale in India as the Gypsy and it will soon get the fourth generation as well. Internationally, the 4th gen Jimny is already on sale as a 3 door variant.
Maruti Jimny booking in full swing
Maruti Jimny bookings have crossed 3,000 in just 2 days. This means that the waiting period for the Jimny has already touched 3 months before launch. Going by this, it seems that Maruti has set a production target of 1,000 units per month for the Jimny 5 Door for domestic consumption.
Waiting period can reach up to 1 year
Maruti is expecting that they will register a record 10,000 bookings for the Jimny within a month and this booking number may increase further till the launch. Depending on the production line of the Jimny, the waiting period for the Jimny 5 door can easily reach up to 1 year.
